Products description

After bassist Will Heggie parted ways with Liz Fraser (vocals) and Robin Guthrie (guitar, bass, drums), the Cocteau Twins released their second album, "Head Over Heels," in 1983. It remained the only work recorded as a duo, in the recordings for "Treasure" participated Simon Raymonde (bass, guitar, piano), who remained with the formation, founded in 1980 in Grangemouth, Scotland, until its dissolution in 1998. The record salesman and former co-musician of Drowning Craze had once introduced the Cocteau Twins to Ivo Watts-Russell, the owner of the independent label 4AD, which was founded in 1980. The LP "Treasure", released in 1984, was produced by the sound tinkerer Guthrie himself. It contains the tracks "Lorelei", "Ivo" and "Persephone", three classics that are not missing in any CT collection. "Treasure" meant the final breakthrough for the band.
