Rudimentary Peni - Great War LP

It's hard to believe, but "Great War" is an unreleased album that was recorded a few years ago, just before the band's current hiatus. 13 years after the last release, and 25 years after the last album, now 10 new songs, unmistakably the artwork by Nick Blinko, "Great War" delivers on all aesthetic levels what you would expect from a Rudimentary Peni album: Boisterous, raw, monotonous, dark UK anarcho-punk with the necessary aggression that has always suited the band so well and made them, alongside Crass, probably the most important representatives of their school. Nothing is smoothed out or puffed up here, the tracks sound exactly like a band like this should sound, no metal, no rock, just rudimentary punk. A very strong comeback, and I'm sure some people here would chew their dog's leg off to see the band live again.
